1.- What Is A Rake
Poker is a game where players wager money against one another instead of other casino games where people play versus the house. The casino/cardroom is there to make money so they have to charge something for poker games and this is where the rake comes in. Poker is a player versus player game and the house does not wager against its players (unlike blackjack or roulette) so this fee is the principal mechanism to generate revenues. A rake is a portion of chips taken out of each pot that the casino keeps. In each poker hand that we play the poker site is taken 5% of the pot up to 3 $ and in the tournaments we pay 10% of the cost of the entrance. We use this simple equation used to estimate rake: 

(5% * Average pot size* Raked hands) / Players = Rake

Example 1.-
Hours Played Per Day - 2 (or 1 with 2 tables) | Game Played - 2/4 NL
Average pot size = $40
Hands Per Hour => 50 => Total = 50 * 2 hours = 100 hands per day
Average Rake per Hand => $40 * 0.05  = $2
Your contribution to rake of the hand assuming 9 players => $2 / 9 = $0.22

(0.05*40*100) / 9 = $22.22 

Rake Paid Per Day = - $22.22
Rake Paid Per Month = - $666
Rake Paid Per Year = - $8,000

Now, if you have 30% Rakeback Deal you will RECOVER:
Monthly = + $200
Yearly = + $2,400

Example 2.-
Hours Played Per Day - 10 (2.5 hours with 4 tables) | Game Played - .50/1 Fixed Limit
Average pot size = $25
Hands Per Hour => 65 => Total = 65 * 10 hours = 650 hands per day
Average Rake per Hand => $2.5 * 0.05  = $1.25
Your contribution to rake of the hand assuming 9 players => $1.25 / 9 = $0.139

(0.05*25*650) / 9 = $90.28

Rake Paid Per Day = - $90.28
Rake Paid Per Month = - $2,708
Rake Paid Per Year = - $32,496

Now, if you have 30% Rakeback Deal you will RECOVER:
Monthly = + $812
Yearly = + $9,748
